Here's the part nobody advertising these programmes wants spelled out: the most expensive — or the most heavily advertised — weight-loss jab is not automatically the best option for you. Some programmes run past $1,000 a month once the medication, the membership and the dose increases are added up. Same molecule. Very different bill.

We compared the five biggest GLP-1 providers — pricing, what's actually in the vial, how fast they ship, and what happens when you need a human on the other end of the line. One came out ahead on every line that matters: TrimRx is currently opening access for 1,000 eligible Americans from $149/month, with an additional $140 promotional discount that could cover your first month outright. No fixed-term contract, and your price stays locked in whatever dose you end up on.

What are weight-loss jabs?

GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is a gut hormone your body already makes. It tells your brain you're full, tells your stomach to empty more slowly, and helps your pancreas release insulin at the right time. Weight-loss jabs are lab-made versions of that hormone — molecules like semaglutide (Ozempic®, Wegovy®) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro®, Zepbound®) — designed to do the same job, only longer and stronger.

A weekly self-injection suppresses appetite, increases satiety and slows gastric emptying. Newer dual agonists like tirzepatide add GIP, a second gut hormone, which appears to push weight-loss numbers higher again.

Why your body responds to GLP-1

One hormone, three systems — here is what it changes in each.

1Brain

Hunger signals turned down

Receptors in the hypothalamus register fullness sooner, so cravings lose their pull.

2Stomach

Slower gastric emptying

Food stays put longer, so a smaller plate keeps you satisfied for hours.

3Pancreas

Steadier blood sugar

A more measured insulin response and less glucagon means fewer energy crashes.

Net effect: a smaller meal feels satisfying — and stays that way.

What can weight-loss jabs actually do?

Published trial data on the branded medications puts average weight reduction between 15% and 22% of starting body weight over roughly 68 weeks, depending on the molecule and dose. Programme data self-reported by the providers on this page sits in a similar band over 6-month windows.

"The medication does about a third of the work. Consistency and the right dose titration do the other two-thirds."

None of that happens on week one. Every provider titrates the dose up over several weeks, which is why the quality of the clinical team you can actually reach matters as much as the price you paid for the box.

The 3 Main Types of Weight-Loss Jab

Three categories on the market — every provider on this page sells at least two.

1

GLP-1

Semaglutide

Most studied & lowest price.

The single-agonist weekly jab behind Ozempic® & Wegovy®. Widely offered and the cheapest entry point. [4]

2

GLP-1 + GIP

Tirzepatide

Highest weight-loss numbers.

The dual-agonist behind Mounjaro® & Zepbound®. Top trial results — but pricier at $249–$399/mo. [5]

3

Oral

Tablets & drops

For injection-avoiders.

Dissolvable tablets or sublingual drops. Thinner evidence base, more variable outcomes. [6]

What to look for

Medication type

Semaglutide vs. tirzepatide vs. oral. Dual-agonist tirzepatide generally performs strongest in trial data.

Pharmacy & certification

US-licensed 503A compounding pharmacy, LegitScript certification, and — ideally — published purity testing.

Ongoing support

Access to a care team for dose adjustments, side effects and refills — not just a one-off script.
